we are not allowed to build a mosque inside vatican city in Rome or practice islam in that city...
So there are places that do now allow this.... You abide by the rules and laws of the country in which you are in...
So if SaudiArabia does not want churches,or synagues in its midst. so be it... We saudis abide by the laws when in vatican city Rome...
(which doesnt allow synagues either besides mosques)

Oh. and we saudis are building a church in Riyadh this year

I know that I do not give you a satisfying answer.

Created in 1929 to provide a territorial identity for the Holy See in Rome, the State of the Vatican City is a recognized national territory under international law. Do you think you will find any mosques, temples synagogues etc. there? The answer is plain: NO

On the other hand you find many catholic institutions.chures in other countries (also Islamic countries) supported by the Vatican?catholic church.

Guess it works both ways, right?

Take care.

The way Israel and the Jewish community as well as the Christian community and many leading nations fund their religious, political and extra curricular wings around the globe [(;-) - I guess, its the most open secret] have already set the better examples to answer this question.
