I am not a Hindu but would like to visit a Hindu temple. Is it OK to just go along to a temple and go inside?
I’ve visited Hindu temples in other countries but not in England so wondered if there’s anything I should know about when they are open or any dress code etc. The temple I would go to is the one in Slough.
THanks.

I’m not too sure either but I guess the safest bet would be to call them beforehand to double check everything.

That sounds allright. My school just went on a vist to a Sihk temple 9we’re a Catholic school). The teacher emailed the temple and asked and they were glad to have us there, we went on a tour and ate some of their food, they asked us all to bring a scarf to cover our heads, take our shoes off, wash our hands ect.
If you email or contact the temple then you can find out to save embarrassment and find out what to wear/what to do.

Sure, all you have to do is take off your shoes before going into the temple.
