I am in the musical Stand By Your Man- the Tammy Wynette Story. It encompasses her 5 marriages, the birth of her 4 children (Gwendolyn, Jacqueline, Tina Louise and Georgette- you can tell which was George Jones’ daughter!),her troubled health & lastly her funeral. It’s interesting to see Tammy’s life, strength & her reactions. One thing I can say, was she was not excited to do this song at all. One quote in the musical is “No, Richey. I’d rather sing the phone book. Say goodbye to MuMuland.”

yes but some…, okay MOST in the country Music field ARE crazy. They don’t accept change. They loathe anything that might take them to a space where they actually have to think for themselves. Change is anethma to them. I think tammy, dolly and emmy-lou and all the others who have broadened their horizons and embraced change and difference have made this world a richer, happier place. In memory of Matthew Shepard.

Some… okay, MOST in the Country Music field thought she was crazy to record this with The KLF, or even appear in the video. Crazy, eh? Crazy like a fox!!! It charted in 18 countries and opened a whole new world to her talents! She DESERVED to wear that crown and sit on that throne!

What an astoundingly odd and wonderful song and video! Tammy showed some real nerve daring to do this knowing how close minded her core fan group can be.
If I could, I would rate this 500 stars!

top song {BRING THE BEAT BACK}

She didn’t debase herself in any way. Johhny Cash enjoyed a second wind in the same manner , and was very well received by a new generation who would otherwise have considered him an ancient relic. God rest Tammy and Jonny’s souls , they brought us so much great music.

i wasn’t talking about the music of the late 90s.
it was a great time. i’d love to turn the clock back 10-12 years ago, .
compared to now, it was GREAT.

tammy shouldnthave lowered herself to this
May 8th, 2009 at 3:22 pm
I agree with the first part of what you said, but definitely not the second. By the late 90’s…music had gone to ****!
And this song was EARLY 90’s, in case anyone thinks I am bashing it…NO WAY!!! This song is STILL SHIT-HOT!!
With my respects…
JUSTIFIED!!
