Great great song, an icon of the movement. It was as powerful as Nevermind by Nirvana, and early Vedder stuff~awesome. Listen to the refrain and the crash of bass and drum refrain.

Maybe I didn’t explain it well enough. There was no Pearl Jam until after Temple of The Dog. The two bands did not exist at the same time. TOTD and Soundgarden existed at the same time. When TOTD ended, it became Soundgarden(again) and Pearl Jam. You were saying that Vedder was already known from Pearl Jam, when Pearl Jam hadn’t formed yet.

How could the rest, without Vedder, go on to form Pearl Jam, if Vedder was lead singer for Pearl Jam?

    Sweiland,
Eddie Vedder went and the rest of Temple of The Dog went on to form Pearl Jam. Temple of The Dog was really a tribute to the late Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone. The common thread between these bands is Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard.

“Temple of the Dog also featured contributions from then-unknown vocalist Eddie Vedder.”
I thought Eddie was already known by then as the lead singer of Pearl Jam
