from my personal experiance i would spend little time with the familly in bangkok and take them to phuket, you can get cheap internal flights for about 2800 baht – 3000 baht return, its only 40 mins and has everything, the main place is patong beach, it has everything you would want for your familly all in one place!, i dont let my familly stay in bangkok for more than one night if possible, it’s ok for a man on his own i think that is about as far as it goes! good look and i hope you have a nice time, oh and if you dont go to phuket i would even take them to pattaya, its far better.

You can check with a local travel agency and see what tours might interest your kid.

There are tours in which you can ride railroads and even elephants. There are places that you can go rafting.

In Bangkok you can go to the Baiyoke Tower Hotel (off Phetchaburi Road) and ride the elevator to the top observation floor – on a clear day you can see forever! (Small fee to ride the elevator for non hotel guests!)

    Try these links:

    Good luck.

If your teenage child is a female she would love MBK Shopping Centre. It’s a massive shopping centre with five floors and has an entertainment floor up the top. It’s just so packed with people and so much happening.
Otherwise the obvious sites like the Grand Palace and Dusit Zoo are interesting.
I also recommend the Weekend Market (i think it’s at the Mo Chit sky trin stop from memory) as it’s an interesting insite into Thai culture.
    Enjoy!

Last year spent three weeks in BKK,, Two boys 14-17 loved it. They learned the sky train, and went all over the city. MBK was their favorite. but we went to the Siam park, Dream World, Palace, The miniature Thailand park with all the small temples as well as the real ones in and around BKK> like Wat Poe.. The guys got a kick out of the markets, esp the weekend market. You can get there from the subway. Some of the food was a trick, once they saw grubs, crickets, roaches and worms cooked… YUK… We all felt save at all times.

Don’t let anyone tell you that Siam Park is closed as it is a bit out of the way, but they were putting in a rollar coaster while we were there. Real big wave pool. with small waves. and only one double size water slide… Being 250# i really gained some speed on the way down that thing.. LOL

Took a one day side trip to Pattaya, and got a kick out of Walking Street. But did not stay for the night life. Got real Thai massages, and *******..

The family had a blast, and stayed at the Ambassador most of the time. There is a great Pasta House right around the corner from the hotel.

has 1,000s of current photos of all Bangkok attractions. This is a commercial free website with actual photographs and information from someone that lives in Thailand. By reviewing all the photos, you will know right away which attractions you want to see.

Oceanworld in Siam Paragon is the largest aquarium in Asia.

Dreamworld is the local amusement park with lots of cool rides.

Visit some temples like The Grand Palace.

The photos are worth 1,000 words

Good luck you will really enjoy Thailand

If you have a teenage child, better not visit pattaya. In addition to dream world and zoo, include safari world also. The entire family can enjoy there.

to be frank, for just only a few days in thailand, u cannot do much there except doing some shopping and sight-seeing around the more popular places in the city. i personally stayed there for 9 months and havent even finished exploring this wonderful kingdom. thailand is an amazing place to visit, but that is if you can afford the time to stay there for loooooong.

there are some night markets in bkk and u can get some cheap stuff from there too. one such is the suphanpoot river market…

it will be even better if you can learn some basic thais before you begin your shopping spree. enjoy!
